Choose a Brighter Future
I am a Managing Partner at Building Kidz Worldwide; a top 100 emerging Franchisor in early childhood education. While I do not own any preschools in Foster City, I have worked with many cities and school districts in the Bay Area and across our country. I am deeply committed to educating our children, supporting our hardworking teachers, and collaborating with our committed administrators.
Additionally, as of September 24th, 2018, I am the only candidate with an endorsement from the Board of Trustees of the Elementary School District. I have earned the endorsement of Audrey Ng, President of the Board of Trustees.
Here are some facts about California schools compared with the rest of the nation:
- California ranks 41st in per pupil funding yet California has the 5th largest economy in the world.
- California schools rank 45th in student-to-teacher ratio.
- Out of 23 school districts in San Mateo County, the San Mateo-Foster City School District ranks 20th in per pupil funding.
We need to deliberately choose a brighter future for our children. Our children deserve the best education in the world. We need to partner with our local schools to provide our students with the tools to achieve academic success and valuable life skills. We must work collaboratively with our school district to ensure that school facilities are modern, safe, and conducive to 21st century learning. We must advocate together with educators for increased school funding from the state.
Hard working parents committed to joining our community deserve the peace of mind knowing they have a robust school system that can accommodate all of our children. Parents want a Council that is attuned to their desires and committed to collaboration with them and our School District.
Relationships with the Elementary School District are at an all time low so, there is no choice but to improve. I have already reached out to some of the key players to start understanding the breakdown so that we can build a partnership that benefits everyone. We need to acknowledge that we are partners with a shared responsibility for providing the best neighborhood education possible.
I have the interest, experience and knowledge to help make that happen.
